The Patrick O'Keeffe Traditional Music Festival classes/workshops take place from on Saturday 24th of October at 11am.
Please note that all workshops will take place on College Road, Castleisland. Classes will be held in either St. Patrick's Boys' School or Gaelscoil Aogáin. On the morning of each class, clear signage will be in place to indicate the correct venue.
Éimhear Flannery is an accomplished tin whistle and concertina player from Rockchapel, Co. Cork, whose playing is deeply rooted in the music and traditions of Sliabh Luachra.
Éimhear began playing the whistle from a very young age and has since established herself as one of the outstanding traditional musicians of her generation. In 2024, she was awarded the prestigious Seán Ó Riada Gold Medal (Bonn Óir Seán Ó Riada) for her whistle playing.
Equally at home on the concertina, Éimhear has performed extensively both as a solo musician and alongside her sister Caoimhe, as well as with leading Sliabh Luachra musicians including Matt Cranitch and Jackie Daly.
