Jakob Koranyi — Bach Cello Suites I–III

 
Praised by The Strad as “a force to be reckoned with,” internationally acclaimed Swedish cellist Jakob Koranyi joins the Belgium Cello Society for a special evening devoted entirely to Johann Sebastian Bach.

At the heart of the cello repertoire, Bach’s six Suites for solo cello have accompanied generations of cellists throughout their artistic lives. For this recital, Koranyi performs the first three Suites, tracing a remarkable progression from the luminous simplicity of the G major Suite, through the introspective D minor, to the expansive brilliance of C major.

Renowned for the depth, refinement and individuality of his playing, Koranyi brings his distinctive voice to music in which there is nowhere to hide: a single cello, a single performer, and some of Bach’s most enduring music.

A rare opportunity to experience three of Bach’s Cello Suites in a single evening and in an intimate setting.
